- Details: Navigating with G.P.S. is an
introductory class that is intended to familiarize you with the principals
of G.P.S. navigation and basic use of a G.P.S. receiver. The class is
most valuable to students who are able to bring their portable G.P.S. units
to class and operate them during a realistic class exercise. The
student without a G.P.S. device will be introduced to a number of different
G.P.S. types during the course of the class and will be better prepared for
a G.P.S purchase.
This is a three hour program in how to use marine charts to locate precise
positions, store the location of positions into the G.P.S. receiver, plan a
voyage and actually execute the planned voyage in simulated conditions.
